Alarm clock goes off…

You open your eyes.

QUICK.

You’ve got two choices…

Option 1: Start Reacting, say “ugh” to your alarm, grab your cell phone, think about how you don’t want to get up, start scrolling through Instagram and get mad at yourself for not waking up on the paradise island that you see in the photos, then start rambling on in your head about how much you don’t want to get ready, how gross you feel, and start being so full of annoyance you’re annoying yourself…

OR

Option 2: Start your thought momentum with appreciation, look at the window and say thank you for another day, stretch your arms up with a smile because you really appreciated the rest you just got, get out of bed, turn on a fun song, dance while you brush your teeth and throw on your workout shoes before running out the door with the same song still playing in your head, you hit the gym and feel so empowered and refreshed from a sweat, you head back to your place, turn on a guided meditation and grab for journal to write down a couple of those incredible thoughts and feelings you had during your meditation. You then start shrieking out of excitement for all you have going in your life, and know that today get’s to be another adventure on your journey…

Which will you choose tomorrow morning?

Our thoughts have momentum. Once we think a thought, another extension of that thought follows, and then another, and another, and another and soon you are so far down the same thought pattern that you gain some serious momentum in that direction.

So, it’s really important to deliberately set up your first thought of the day, so you can allow the momentum to build in the desired direction. If you do not use your power to choose your first thought of the day, you may be left reacting to conditions of what is in front of you and continue to be held in the same negative spiral that has been robbing you of your happiness. Make your choice and step into your power every single day.

TRY THIS:

Before bed tonight, put a paper and pen right near your bed. As soon as you wake up tomorrow, grab the paper and pen and write down three things you really appreciate about yourself and/or life. Then write down why you appreciate each. Think about how good those things you appreciate make you feel. Focus on that feeling, and then think about what you’ll appreciate out of today. Write it down. Then make your way out of bed, turn a fun song on, and off you go…
